The Koran views the relationship between a married couple as sacred; it places no requirements upon a wife to perform housework, avoid work outside the home, feed children, or perform other such tasks. There may well be cultural or family traditions that encourage decisions in one direction or another on these activities, but the Koran is silent on them.
